A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of shooting Olivia’s senior portraits. Thanks to a generous angel who is related to important people, we were able to use a secret location and had a great time taking photos in the falling light.
Olivia is from a large family, of whom I have only met a few, but I love all of them. Olivia radiates joy and makes me laugh effortlessly. While she fretted about never having done a photoshoot before, she was an absolute natural. I love this girl.
Olivia, congratulations on the car and on making it to senior year! May God bless your last year of high school. Dream big, laugh often, and don’t take a single moment for granted.
Anxiety isn’t cute. It isn’t a trend. It isn’t something you want.
Anxiety drowns you. Sometimes you can’t breathe. Sometimes you can’t eat. Sometimes it wakes you when you’re sleeping, or keeps you from closing your eyes altogether. Sometimes you feel like you’re under water. Sounds get louder and smells get stronger and people get closer. Walls lean towards you and your heart beats so loud in your chest and your ears and your stomach that the echo becomes unbearable.
Anxiety isn’t a game. It is genuine, life or death situation panic. It is the feeling of missing the last step and falling into nothingness, but lasts for an eternity. It wakes the demons in the night and shatters them against our brains.
Anxiety isn’t cute. It is very real. And it isn’t something we brag about. It is something we hide, because it tells us we are broken.
Anxiety and depression are very real. I am not a professional. Please reach out and get help. You deserve happiness and health.
