friends, meet fiancé; fiancé, meet friends

My friends, it has been a long time since we have spoken. Not necessarily for any one reason, but more because we all know that you can do anything, but you can’t do everything.

So here I am, having found a few moments to myself where I am not growing my photography business (Facebook page here, or Instagram here), or working a full time admin job, or playing on the worship team at my church, or doing life with my incredible fiancé, or planning my wedding.

Friends, more than anything I want to introduce you to Will.
Clyde.NC.5.17-1

He is patient, and kind, and good. And is is much more than I could have ever dreamed for myself.

We met because of church, and music, and friends. More specifically we met on a day that was supposed to be devoted to photography. He has always spoken confidence and worth into my heart, and I am blessed beyond words to marry him soon.

We plan on many life adventures, calling many places home, and on puppies and babies and photographing all the things.

I hope to give you more updates in the future, but for now, here are some #cutecouple photos to tide you over.

Friends, meet bae. Bae, meet friends.

My mama bear sent me a fabulous care package in October. If there’s anything I love, it’s the changing of seasons. She sent me pumpkin flavored everything, candy, tea, and fall decor. She is probably the best mom to ever mom.

I had my friend Katie over for a fancy food, chick flick and wine night. There might be plastic ice cubes in our wine glasses, but we don’t need to talk about that.

The family and I went on our annual trip to the mountains. For that blog post, click here.
I’m a mad fan of changing leaves, cool temperatures, crisp mountain air, and photographing everything. These trips are my jam.

We were super blessed by one of my brother-in-law’s former students whose family let us stay with him at their cabin. We really enjoyed epic movie nights, wide open views of the stars, a lot of great windows, and the coffee station outside our rooms.

Adventures around town would not be complete without a stop at The Mast General Store, bottled soda, and some OOTD shots with the mountains in the background. Photobomb courtesy of Jon and Noah.

We spent a good part of the afternoon keeping tabs on the situation back home in Fayetteville where Hurricane Matthew was wreaking havoc. Snapchat, Facebook–all the social media sites kept us in the loop and helped us reassure everyone we were safe too.

I love the stars. I love the moon. I love telescopes. I love all of these things even more when we’re in the mountains.

Friends and fire pits.
These human beings and our friend group probably don’t know how grateful I actually am for them. They adopted me in October, and it’s been super wonderful.

You know what I love? I’ve already mentioned fall and turning leaves. Combine those with photography adventures and I’m set.
I will share those photos with you later.

When other offices hear about the hurricane and the flooding so they make hurricane buckets and send them to your market center to give to people in need. I’ve gotta get real, I lose faith in humanity sometimes but these kind of acts, and all the giving hearts I have witnessed in the months since the hurricane, have been truly remarkable.

The competition was fierce this year at my office. Every halloween we have a door decorating competition. My boss (AKA his wife) did an excellent job. Honorable mention.
